That's neat. Even beat out many of the Hawaiian beaches...I'm impressed. I was surprised that Provincetown made it in list and Hampton Beach didn't. Hmmmm.

Okay, Paul, so you've got a fabulous beach with the third-largest monolith. Here in Texas, we have Enchanted Rock, a huge pink granite dome which -- at 640 acres in size -- is one very large batholith. I have personally hiked to the top. Check it out:

Now you've done it. I will not rest until I find a huge pink growth in Oregon (even though it makes me queasy to type that phrase). It shouldn't be that difficult.

Other than Mt. Washington being the highest peak east of the Mississippi River, the only big thing we're known for here in central NH takes place about 10 miles from my house. It's the big Laconia Bike Week in Weirs Beach. Hundreds of thousands of motorcycles roll into the area for the week just before Father's Day.

There is a small town in PA called Jersey Shore, it's near Williamsport, home to Little League baseball. It's probably a good 2 hours inland from the ocean. Never could figure out how it got its name. But, you probably mean the other Jersey Shores.
