I wanna be a cowboy...

I don't really want to be a cowboy but there is a song that has the line "I wanna be a cowboy..." and the tune of that song keeps going through my head but instead I'm singing "I wanna be a grandma..." because today at lunch I found out I'M GONNA BE A GRANDMA!!!! my baby is having a baby and I'm just so happy and excited I could burst!!!

I wanta be one too! but the only problem I have with your post is your saying you wanta burst! C'mon girl, get real, what you really mean is YOU WANT TO BUST! Me too. I can't wait to get that news one day. On a lighter note, lets hope that baby is exposed to some conservative principles. Do I need to send you a bottle of something?

Actually I did initially type "bust" instead of "burst" but I wasn't sure if others understood that concept! I'm still wanting to BUST. My 'baby' is 24, the exact age I was when I had her and she is a 'bit' more conservative than I am. Send me a bottle of wine so I can celebrate!!!!!!!!! woooooooowhoooooooooo

Congratulations Judy! You must have started way young! I'm looking forward to that news some day but I can wait awhile. My oldest daughter is only 22 and I know she's not ready. But when the time comes, I will be just as excited as you are.

CONGRATULATIONS!

My first grandbaby just turned 6-months old, and I have to tell you it is THE BEST! (My 17-year old daughter told me on Mother's Day during her senior year in high school that she was pregnant. I would usually say that is not the time you want to hear this kind of news, but having a baby did great things for her. Maternal instincts really kicked in, and this baby girl has been a wonderful, healing blessing to our whole family.)

It's amazing what grandparents will do. I'll never forget seeing my dad running around the yard with a motorcycle helmet on using his finger as a Star Wars laser blaster. I nearly needed medical treatment once I stopped laughing.

Larry's wife used to tell him to be sure to wear clean underwear in case he had to go to the hospital. Now she worries about the reaction of the paramedics when they pull his socks off!

When my kids and my brother's kids were fresh born, my mother insisted on giving each of them a bath in a number 9 washtub right in front of her fireplace, like kids got baths when she was a baby I guess, a couple hundred years ago. We still have the photos. Priceless.

Being a grandparent is wonderful. I got home from work yesterday and 2 of my grandkids were there. I laid on the couch and held my 7 month old grandson - he likes to stand on my stomach and we "talk" to each other.

I don't usually reply to messages on the forum but if you are going to talk grandkids, I just have to reply. CONGRATULATIONS Judy. My first grandson just turned 2 April 30 and he is absolutely (other than my own children) the greatest thing that has every happened to us. Kolby talks all the time and is such a joy to me and my husband. He is due to get a sister (according to the doctor) somewhere around August 8. We have two boys so a girl will be a new experience. You are going to have so much fun!

Wait till you hear a little cartoon voice on the phone say "Gamma, tan I tum ober an pendanite?" You'll melt. Check for sugar, marjarine, eggs, and flour. You'll be bakin' toklat tip tookies. Then about 9:00 p.m. he/she will start sobbing "I want my mommy." Take him/her to the rocker. You'll both nod out for the nite. What sweet peace.

Congratulations! I have 4 grandchildren, and they are the loves of my life. I have a friend who, after her first grandchild was born, said, "I didn't know grandchildren were so great. If I had, I would have skipped the children and gone straight for the grandchildren."
