[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 05-21-04 AT 03:05PM (CST)[/font][br][br]All employees at my bank (and branches)just received "high importance/urgent" emails (not seen here since the last president dropped dead) from three of our five executive officers. No attachment - no messages. Everyone went into an instant panic and we can't find any of the officers. Just like an action movie!

They are in a special, e-mail training session, but didn't bother to tell anyone! What happened to the good old days when executives had assistants (nannies) who took care of things and made sure they didn't touch things they shouldn't!

I'm dense! I don't understand. You got emails from people who aren't available? And the emails had no text? And these people are in email training? What the heck is email training?

To help the executives into the modern age, our IT department tried to give them an introduction to email (more than just send and receive). However, they weren't actually suppose to send anything. But of course, they sent all types of stuff out. It was Friday afternoon, we thought the execs. could be unsupervised for a little while, so no one paid attention to where they were. And, of course, they were all together causing problems.

I like the ones from Corporate with the disclaimer, "Please do not reply to this message as the sender may have no knowledge of it's contents or that it was sent."

If the sender may have no knowledge of the message, who does? gremlins in the e-mail system?

My tiny little brain can't wrap around such an idiotic statement like that.

oh gee.. this brought back memories of the mid 80's when I was commissioned to provide training to our corp execs on how to use the NEWLY installed voice mail system. After 2 hours (yes, that's 2 hours) of training them simply how to leave a message when they call someone and get a recording, they all looked at one another and concluded they really didnt need to know this since voice mail would never catch on.

I thought it was just our upper mgmt people that were technologically challenged! Our CEO can't type nor check email. I think it's ridiculous.
