Another lawyer joke

No offense intended to those holding juris doctorates...
A defense attorney was cross-examining a police officer during a felony trial - It went like this:
Q. Officer, did you see my client fleeing the scene?
A. No sir, but I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender running several blocks away.
Q. Officer, who provided this description?
A. The officer who responded to the scene.
Q. A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?
A. Yes sir, with my life.
Q. With your life? Let me ask you this then officer, do you have a room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily duties?
A. Yes sir, we do.
Q. And do you have a locker in that room?
A. Yes sir, I do.
Q. And do you have a lock on your locker?
A. Yes sir.
Q. Now why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, that you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with those same officers?
A. You see sir, we share the building with the court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.
With that, the courtroom erupted in laughter, and a prompt recess was called.

Or, as William Shakespeare said, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." (Henry VI, Part 2, Act IV Scene ii)
Note: The preceeding is my personal opinion and has no value beyond that. Although it may be 'sorta offensive' or 'indeed offensive' to someone out there, it is offered without regard to that possibility. Should you find yourself alarmed by my post, you may privately mail me to protest or you may alert the principal's office. x:-)
Theresa Gegen popped in the other day and responded to a post. Margaret has been absent for a long time too.
Do you suppose this is a change in the corporate mission at MLSP.

>Not true in my case. Peyton Irby, editor of the Mississippi Employment Law newsletter is always helpful with his comments when I do have to post.
Thanks, Peyton, if you read this.

We would love to have more lawyers participate in the Forum, and this month we're planning several things to encourage them.
Peyton Irby and some other editors get automatic notifications when someone from their state posts a question. If he only has time to answer a few questions, I'd think that he and Mississippi posters would prefer for him to focus on those from his state rather than Idaho.
Unlike me, the attorneys in our network don't get paid to participate on the Forum. In fact, it takes them away from billable work. So if they have a hope that maybe one day they might possibly have the potential of perhaps getting a client, I don't have a problem with that. In fact, I want to give a big thanks to all of the attorneys who drop by the Forum. xclap
A beautiful spring day is calling my name, so I'm outta here. Have a great weekend, everyone!
