I'm all alone in here!

Now I've got my own closet (I'm not kidding) because I'm all the HR staff left and I have to have a closed door office. When my boss and I were engaged in mindless tasks we would chat and it would make the time go by faster. In the past month or so I have had to do both the 401k census and am currently working on the eeo-1. I keep getting bored and easily distracted (this forum is definitely distracting). I keep hearing everybody else laughing and chatting in their offices and I am jealous! I am a very social person so this is hard for me. I've got the radio on to a talk channel but it is not helping.
Does anybody else have this problem and what do you do to make the day go by?

Having a problem posting any other way than to edit my own post. James can you tell me what 's going on? I keep gettinf the blue toold box covering up the majority of the box that I type in. I would go to how to use but it is happening there too

I sit around and read posts like yours. Then I will post something that is sure to get a rise out of people or tweak Beagle or Don.

Actually, when I start to go nuts in my office, I wander around the mfg. floor and talk to people, see what is going on and just make a pest out of myself.

I actually envy you, because I share an office with a 300 lb. fan of polka music who dances at free will. Once I leave this job, if I never hear another polka, it will be okay with me.

He also burps, swears, smokes and plays video games all day long. I WISH I were making this up.

Enjoy your quiet office and think of your forum friends as your outlet!

Just think, you can laugh out loud at our messages and not get caught. I have to stifle myself, so I don't draw any attention from him.

That has to be the strangest environment I have ever heard. I don't think even beagle's twisted mind could have come up with that scenario. What a hoot! I want to get paid for playing video games.

I completely understand - there once was three and now there is one (ME). I have been a single HR Dept for three years now and am use to the solitude. Give it some time you will get use to it and even enjoy it.

Would leaving your door open help? I share an office with several others and it's very difficult to keep confidential conversations confidential. I often will just use the printer room to make confidential phone calls. I have semi-seriously considered installing those beaded doorway thingies, but they wouldn't keep sound out. Someone suggested a tent. x:D

I think M. Lee Smith is redesigning the website. I'm having the same problem you are... I'm sure they'll be done TODAY, RIGHT?

Why does the print size get smaller. I feel as if I'm taking an eye test and failing. No icon short cuts. Has Don D's twin returned wanting revenge?
