LAST EDITED ON 11-05-03 AT 07:40PM (CST)[p]Parabeagle my friend - if you had to deal with the Washington State Labor of Industries as Safety Witch and I do, you too would be impassioned. For as much grief as my brothers and sisters get for living/working with California and NY worker comp. issues, I swear it's nothing like Washington. And I mean that to say, it's not a badge of honor. If any state deserves more disdain for Worker Comp. issues it's surprisingly not California or NY - it's Washington State.
ps - it is Safety Witch's real screen name - she usually posts on the Worker Comp section of this forum.
Congrats MWild, it looks all the voters in Washington State heard about you being down in the dumps and took the action needed to cheer you up. The rest of us just wanted to help you hang in there until the right thing was done.
Ah, but Mwild, you forget (or maybe you never knew to begin with) - I'm responsible for three hotels in Washington - two in the Seattle area and one in Bellingham - so I am VERY familiar with the pretzel logic employed in the WA comp system. x;-)
Amen, MWild31. I'm sure if we wrote a book about w/c in WA State, we'd make millions. There are stories here that will raise the hair on the back of your neck....talk about impassioned. When the esteemed director of L&I says in a speech to self-insured employers "there is no w/c fraud", it sets the stage for emotions that no emoticon can express.
Safety Witch is indeed my screen name, which I borrowed from a peer in a safety class. Goes good this time of year, dontya think?
I would love to take responsibility for my actions; however, the truth be told..there is a force beyond my control that compels me to do the slightly wrong thing.
