Introducing the new CA Governor

It wasn't even a contest as Californians came out in mass numbers to boot out Gray Davis and elect as his replacement:
Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger!
After months of mud-slinging, trash talking, allegations and denials,(sounds like a typical work-day) the terminator had almost a 20 point lead over his competitor Cruz Bustamante. The news channels were projecting Arnold as the winner even before the polls were closed.
Larry Flynt and Gary Coleman still managed to get 15 thousand and 12 thousand votes respectfully.
The circus is finally over....I hope.

Wonder if I'm too old to emigrate to Canada.
I have to disagree with you... the real circus may have just begun. From what our papers are reporting, the fiscal problems are so deep that Arnold doesn't stand a chance of making everything all better again and sooner or later, people will become disenchanted with him. But, just to show you how kind us NY'ers can be, I won't laugh unlike when we elected Hillary and everybody laughed at us.
"Not sure if I want to move to NY or DC, but most of the work that I am interested in is there. And now that the gubernator is our governor, there is little reason to stay here and watch the state collapse around me."
We Minesotans know a bit about celebrity governors. A letter writer in today's Minneapolis Star Tribune wrote:
"The tiny solace in the result of the recall is that Minnesota will at last be off the hook: Before he's through, Arnold Schwarzenegger will make Jesse Ventura look like Pericles." Truly well stated!
GOP Gov. Ev Mecham was recalled in 1988 (refused to acknowledge Martin Luther King day, actually used the word "pickaninny" at a press conference, and cost us a Super Bowl due to all this nonsense.) But the reason for the recall and removal were indictment for misuse of funds for a state loan, concealing an illegal campaign contribution, and obstruction of justice. He was acquitted of all counts.
Then a recall in the making was derailed in 1997 when GOP Gov. Fife Symington III resigned. He was promptly convicted by a federal jury on 7 counts of bank and wire fraud and was to spend quite some time in the slammer. While waiting out all the appeals, he was pardoned by Pres Clinton in 2000, and now is head chef at an upper-crust restaurant in town. x:o
Edit:
My wife read your post over my shoulder and wants to know why you called me a dog.
Perhaps it's the fact that lurking underneath the blonde exterior is a brunette trying to break free!
P.S. I didn't vote for either of them.
P.P.S. GO CUBS! (I think I've said that before but it stands repeating)
P.P.P.S Hey Ray, you really let the "little woman" read the Forum?
P.P.P.P.S In any event, good luck Arnold and California. You're both going to need it. And, I guess, the Terminator is a better persona than Bedtime for Bonzo.
