STOP RAINING!!!

Could someone please make it stop raining!!!!!!! I know some of you can relate to the stream of showers raking through the northern states! I heard it was because of Claudette, the Hurricane. NO matter the cuase, I have had enough! Maybe those of you in Arizona can send us some sunshine????

I'll trade you some of your rain (and cool temperatures) for our 90 degree temps here today. Our only saving grace is that the humidity's only 29 percent. Definitely not looking forward to going to Alabama next week! x:-(

Parabeagle: If you're coming to Alabama I hope you have better weather than we're having now - humidity 100%, thunderstorms (the power at the plant just blinked out four times at 10 minute intervals), and 90 degree temperatures.
You might want to wait until September to make the trip. Sometimes it's a little cooler then.

Unfortunately I can't wait until September. My schedule's driven by the fact that I need to hire somebody down there and I need them NOW! So, it's Birmingham in July. Thanks for the weather update, I could have gone all day without knowing how bad the weather is down there right now. x;-)

I agree! Its rained the last eight days straight. We had quite a thunderstorm last night.

Our business is road construction and living in the midwest we have a very short window of time to get all of our work done. The rain definitely does not help. Plus our employees count on lots of hours and they can't work in the rain.

AprilShowers - I'd take all your rain if I could. We're dreadfully dry, and the north country is starting to burn again this year. Our monsoons are supposed to start in a couple weeks, but last year they were pitiful. Meanwhile, today is supposed to be 118 degrees!

My poor boss has been without power at her home since Monday at 3:30pm! (It's now Friday Morning!) Thunderstorms can be beautiful, but they sure are destructive sometimes!

sure wish I could send some rain!! The month of May wasn't much better, I think there were 5 days of sun the entire month. Sure feel bad for those getting married this summer!
Looks like the clouds have parted and there is some sun trying to peek through today. Thank you to all of you who sent us some dry weather - now those of us in the "wet" states need to will some rain your way!

My garden is growing, peas, beans, kohlrabi and I don't even have to stand out there after work and water it! The grass is green, although too wet to cut. The birdbath is full, I don't feel guilty because I forgot to fill it another day! Yahoo!

I have quite a story about the storms. I was driving into town yesterday and saw lightning strike, straight ahead of me, which seemed very close! When I got into town all of the power was out and there was a telephone pole shattered and it looked like toothpicks. It was on fire. Whew! Glad I wasn't driving past it when it happened. Eeek!

Have a nice weekend! I hear there's sprinkles in our forecast.

It has rained here at least once a day for the past three weeks in Houston. You know what they say about why the rain dance always worked.......
.....because they wouldn't stop dancing until it rained........now if there was only a dnace to make it stop.....hmmmmmm.....

Well as I speak (uh, I mean type) the skies have opened up once again (the fourth day in a row) and is pouring cats and dogs (where did THAT come from?). The thunder and lighting, skies darkening, good grief! I feel like maybe the forum is to blame with all the moving around of people and their states. Did someone relocate me to Washington without my knowing?

Same here in NY. It has rained about every day the past week and expected to rain right up through Sunday. The grass is very green and the flowers are great and my water bill should be lower.

I hope it just raining in NJ (since the rain always seems to go from NJ to NY) I don't think I could handle another one of those storms (like the other day) where we got almost 3" in an hour and half.

Are you kidding me? We are so dry here in Missouri, my yard is officially dead as well as my will to do anything that involves being outside. Feel free to bottle up as much of that rain as you want and send it this way. We have tried every rain dance known, but it just isn't working. xpray

All summer I have been cutting the grass every 4 to 5 days. Once I went an entire week between mowings. My yard is small.

It has rained in Charlotte, NC, probably every day for weeks, at least one storm a day. I'm grateful for it though. Don't have to wash the car or the dogs, and I don't tan well, and everyone else here is as pale as I am!

where I had been...

PLEASE - wish some rain our way in Missouri. Haven't cut the grass since early July. We received a sprinkle on August 1st which was more on the first day of the month than we had during the entire month of July. It measured .35". We're really parched. I heard today on the radio that the Missouri River would have to be closed for three days next week because the water is so low it isn't navigatable (sic?).

Nebraska is in the same boat - barely afloat due to lack of rain. We got a "surprise" shower in Omaha night before last - about 1/10 of an inch. Hoping for a little more rain tomorrow.
