(1) A parlor trick in one of those gentlemens' ranches in Nevada.
(2) An old cowboy serial at 'the picture show' starring a mustachiod guy with a bullwhip.

Come to think of it, both explanations might be about the same.

Food for thought: Any of us could simply "disappear" without notice--at any time. Of course, proper notice would be a considerate act for fellow forum friends, should the opportunity present itself.

I imagine Randolph is in a well-deserved rocking chair somewhere, either on earth or Heaven. If I'm lucky enough to catch him now on the tube, late at night, I don't have to wonder what kind of cowboy movie it is. I already know, simply because he's in it. I just lay the remote back down. As far as I know he was always a gentleman, never bullied anybody, never stepped in anything so's you could see it on his boots, recued more than his share of fair ladies, never got his tassled leather jacket dirty and never held on to the saddle horn. And if he ever put his boots under any woman's bed, he had the consideration for us to not let us know it.
