Maternity Leave Policy

Does your company fall under FMLA requirements? If so, 12 weeks (480 hours)

Also check your state laws. Some states have more liberal requirements than FMLA.

Our company is subject to FMLA as we employ more than 50 EE's however, are EE's are not eligible at this time as our offices are more than 75 miles apart and we do not have 50 EE's in one office.

This is one for Rumplestiltskin. For the past 20 years there's been no such thing as a separate 'maternity leave' policy. How do you figure it's legal or prudent to have such a thing?

Your reference to a maternity leave policy suggests you might be from a very small employer. Understandable, perhaps, but maternity leave policies/leaves of absences, etc. are no longer pertinent. The requirement for your employer to treat all such illnesses the same has eliminated the need for such a specific policy. Maybe you're using an "expression" to mean something different. It's hard to know what you're planning to do with such a policy, but I'm doubtful you'll find too many Maternity policies in existence today.

The suggestion to check your state law is a good one. I know ours is quite liberal.
