Mandatory bonus in Puerto Rico

Does anyone have any employess in Puerto Rico? We have one and their appears to be a mandatory bonus payout according to our payroll department. I would like to know if there is more to this than what I have read. Any information would be appreciated.

Hello,
I worked in PR for 3 years. Yes there is a mandatory bous pay out on PR for CHIRSTMAS BONUS ONLY!!!! That is right you must pay your employees a 3% of their yearly salary as a bonus.
That is all the bonus that is mandate by PR.

Johana, What I uncovered in my research was 2% of their total wages. This information is dated 3/21/06. Since you said 3%, is it possible that I have the wrong information.?
