Exempt Employee

I need to be refreshed on paying an exempt employee upon termination.

Employee was still in the 90 day orientation period. Since employment EE has excessively missed whole and partial days of work but was paid salary.

The pay period which EE was terminated, EE missed one whole day and worked less than a half day on two other days that week.
May I convert EE's salary to hourly and only pay EE for the hours actually worked?
