Maximum pay deduction??

Hello:

I seem to recall reading or hearing a few years ago that Texas had a law limiting the amount an employer can withhold from an employee's paycheck, even for an authorized legal deduction. I can't find any information about that now, when I need it. Is there any limit we need to be aware of when processing employees' authorizations for payroll deductions?

TX child support documents state that the total amount withheld cannot exceed 50% of the person's disposable weekly earnings. Disposable earnings is the amount left after mandatory federal and state taxes are deducted. Also, their pay cannot fall below the minimum wage rate.
