VACATION

We're considering changes to some of our benefits. I'd like input as to how vacation time is allotted to NEW HIRES (full time). Currently we have a tiered structure upon hire broken down by hire date. After they pass that term of employment, they get 2 weeks; after 3 years, 3 weeks; after 8 years, 4 weeks. Once they get past the initial period, vacation time is available as of the first of the year. We don't accrue per payroll or per month. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

We allow our new hires to start accrueing a pro-rated number of hours with the very first paycheck. In 12 months they would have earned 12 days. We also allow 2 personal days available the day the sign on. I am trying to make that particular one to be one day after 6 months and the next one after 12 months.

Thank you for responding. Your policy is very generous, especially the two personal days immediately! We don't have any paid time off immediately upon hire.

We accrue from day one, but it can not be used until 90 day probation is up. It accrues to equate to 2 weeks per year and there it remains until 5 years at which time there is one additional day per year to a maxium of 4 weeks.
