Does anyone know if "Alavert" an over the counter allergy medication can be reimburseable under an FSA plan? There is a clause under covered expenses that says that over the counter medications are not covered. Can this be squeezed through since it is for allergies?

If the clause say that over the counter medications are not covered, they are not covered.

I thought so. Just wanted to see if there was some sort of loop hole I was not aware of. Thanks for responding.

I agree with Whatever, NY. Our plan is written the same way. If it is an OTC medication, then it is an OTC medication, no expections. We had to be carefull to ensure that our employees were aware of the allergy medications that recently became OTC, such as Claratin (spelling?) and therefore were no longer eligible. If you ever allow one employee to use a "loop hole" it will quickly get out of hand.
