COBRA - Rehire of an employee on a termporary basis

My organization recently let go a number of employees. These employees are receiving Company paid COBRA.

If we rehire an employee for a 1 to 2 month temporary basis after they have had a qualifying event, do we have another qualifying event which would entitle them to another 18 months of COBRA?

Depends on what your eligibility for benefits is...check your insurance contracts as many provide for immediate reinstatement of benefits, or reinstatement on the first of the next month (or whatever). If the person works long enough to qualify again for coverage, and is again let go, yes, they get another 18 month period. (But not 18 on top of their original 18, 18 from when they lose their coverage again.)
