Partial Pay for Salaried EEs first week?

Hi Everyone - quick question: We have a salaried employee who started mid-week (Wed) the first week of the pay period. We paid him for an entire two-week pay period, even though he didn't work the first two days. Is that what you do with salaried employees who don't work the entire first pay period, or do you pro-rate the days? (You can tell that we're a smalle enough company that we've never had to address this before

).

During the first week of employment or the final week of employment you do not have to pay an exempt employee for the whole week if they do not work the entire week. You only pay them for the days they work.

Yep... what Irie said. Just take their weekly salary and get a daily rate and then pay them for the days worked.
Here in central Missouri it was up to +8 degrees at 1:00 when I returned from lunch. The local weather prognosticators are saying back up in the mid 50's by the middle of next week.
