Need wording for # of Hours

Here's a silly one for you:
Most of the employees in our organization are hourly. For the past 30-some years, the number of hours for full-time positions has been stated in newspaper ads and job descriptions as "37.5 hours per week." The reason for this is that we have 30-minute, unpaid lunches.
When I first started here (~2 years ago) the "37.5 hours" thing seemed odd. But, now that I'd like to fix it, I've been looking at our "37.5 hours per week" so long, I can't remember how most companies word it. For those of you with unpaid lunch breaks, how do you express the number of hours in a work week?

For those of you who say you define full time as "xx" number of hours (36, 30, 40, etc), are you referring to the number of hours scheduled (9-5;8 hrs) or the number of hours worked (9-12, then 12:30-5;7.5 hrs)?
We say:Normal work hours are 8-4:30 with thirty minutes for lunch, Monday through Friday.
Our employee manual states: "Our normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on those holidays observed by the company. The standard lunch period is one hour."
