Bookkeeper Salary Range?

I tried this post in Wage and Hour and got no response so I'm trying it here hoping I will get responses. What do you suggest as a salary range for a bookkeeper w/3 years experience who's primary focus is ADP Payroll? I'm thinking in the area of $27,000 to $28,000 to start. Any ideas would be helpful.

In our payroll department, we have quite a few bookkeepers with about that much experience...they start in the $23,000 - 25,000 range, but I would expect a lower range here in Kansas vs. east coast.

i think you're a little high.
23-25 would seem about right.

Since we are located in the Philadelphia area, I do believe our pay ranges would be higher than in the midwest.

I used the calculator at [url]www.homefair.com[/url] and $25K in Wichita would translate to $29.5K (if your rent) or $32.5K (if you own a home) in the Philadelphia area.

I've had fairly good success with this tool as a good "ballpark" estimator.

Our payroll specialist had 10 years experience, does ADP payroll and Kronos timekeeping for four companies, 850 employees. She started at $35K.
