Camera Cell phones

Do you have a specific policy about camera cell phones? If so, could you share it, please.
[email]jturner@tgic.com[/email]. We have a policy about use of cell phones, but wondered if we shouldn't also have one on camera phones.

We considered this as well...it's still up-in-the-air. So many phones have this feature, whether you want it or not!!

What we are likely to do is ban the taking of photographs within the building. The concern is to protect our client's private information...camera phones make it easy to take that information with you...although, not much easier than making a photocopy and slipping it into your pocket.

May also want to think about voyeurism. There was a piece on MSNBC a few weeks ago on this. Apparently some people find it arousing to see "under-the-desk" and "upskirt" shots of women taken at work and other public places by creepos with these cameras.

Might make you think twice about Billy the mail clerk who is always "dropping" mail under the receptionist's desk.........

We have a cell phone use policy, and also a cameras and recording equipment policy. The latter includes video recording equipment, audio recording equipment, and cameras of any kind.

I've seen a handful of articles on camera phones in our Employment Law Letters. I don't remember any sample policies, but they give pointers about what to include in a policy. Here's one:
