Another OSHA 300 question

We had two injuries in 2002 that resulted in months away from work in 2002 and 2003. The injuries were reported in 2002 but we couldn't predict the length of time off that resulted. Am I supposed to report them again as though they were new injuries or adjust days off in 2002 or...?

These are 2002 injuries and should only be reported on that log. DO NOT record them on the 2003 log. I am rusty but I believe you can limit your exposure to recordable days to 180.

No, you would only record illnesses/injuries that occured during the year - for the entry that occured in 2002 - you would just update your records.

Question: Is the OSHA 300 form only required for employers with a certain # of employess, certain types of occupations, or are all employers required to keep this log? Stupid question I'm sure, but this is one area I have never concerned myself with?

Employers with 10 or fewer employees and those in certain industries (primarily retail) are not required to post a 300A or keep a log. You can get a complete list of the partially exempt industries on the DOL site. All employers are required to report a workplace fatality or the hospitalization of 3 or more employees.
