Wow, I didn't realize Hatchetman was psychic too! There's not even a post on here! I'm curious as to what the situation was too. And Don, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that likes to check out the forum on the weekends. I'm still working on these emoticons though.
Up there where it says, "Emotion Icon Short Cut," find the one you like and drag a left click across it, highlighting it blue. Then right click and copy. Go back to your response now, and place the cursor where you want the emoticon. Right click again and click on paste. When your final text appears in blue above your draft, your emoticon will be there. th-up
And we all must think that is the exact reason someone erased the question. Christy? From past experience I know you just can't roll in and try to take back a question of your own. What's up x:=|?

Sorry - this should have been a question to Brad. Looks like Christy has left us for a bit. Any scoop to share? Or is she just home waiting "patiently" for the 20th?
I have it from a good source that she's working from home, alternating doing jumping jacks (anything to get the labor going) and creating the web version of the new HR Quick List book. Something tells me she's checking in on the forum every now and then, tho. This place is too addictive to stay away!
LAST EDITED ON 03-17-03 AT 02:17PM (CST)[p]That's what you think Don. .HRsage and I must have the same keyboard demon! (re emotion icons) Maybe copper wrote in invisible ink. .my brother did that from camp one year. . .
Actually Leslie, yes, the poster could have gone back in using edit (which incidentally does show up in red in the post) and delete the original question after he got to thinking about life in prison. Only The Shadow knows fer shore!
We're just concerned, Parabeagle, that Copper won't get to hear our words of wisdom to his concerned "Need Advice." I guess Hatchetman took care of everything and that's when Copper backed out. Time to move on....
In case you hadn't noticed, Copper was a first-time poster... we probably scared him/her away. S/he probably came back to check the forum and saw all these responses and thought, "What is up with these people? Where's that URL for the SHRM website?" x;-)
It would make a good Seinfeld episode. I nominate this thread for a People's Choice Award as the most insightful, thoughtful and comprehensive example of the collective brainpower possessed by HR professionals! x;-)
The detective in me just kicked in. Hatchetman has you all in a tizzy and is having a good laugh. You'll notice that copper revised his post on 03-14-03 AT 09:41 PM (CST) and Hatchetman didn't post his reply until 03-15-03, 12:11 PM (CST). Therefore, Hatchetman responded after Copper edited and deleted his original question and decided to have a little fun with it! Hatchetman? Am I correct?
LAST EDITED ON 03-17-03 AT 08:25PM (CST)[p]By George, I think you've got it! Hatchetman's post also said, be sure to do exactly what I said...That was the very first post on the thread. When did he tell Copper what to do the time before that?! Never! Good one Hatchetman.
LAST EDITED ON 03-18-03 AT 08:06AM (CST)[p]The jury is still out on this one. If it turns out that Hatchetman has pulled one on us, we will be compelled to come up with an appropriate punishment for him. Since he is often citing law and posting websites on laws and federal register sites, we might just put him in a steel cage and make him listen to recordings of that type of stuff for about 10 days with a slow dripping faucet behind his head. The sooner he surfaces, the milder the punishment perhaps. Any other suggestions?
(edit) I could tell you that I've gone into a search of Hatchetman's posts for the past year and see that this is the only time he has posted on a weekend. But, I didn't have the energy to do that.
Blanche: Be sure to make an appropriate journal entry about the participant who pretends not to participate while continually journaling, thereby becoming the most active of participants, journaling not only HER thoughts, but those of all the others. And suddenly her private journal is the most open of all books. If you don't wear shades, we will surely see straight through to your soul.:-?

Make sure you do exactly as I said. Otherwise, you could wind up serving the rest of your life in prison.
What's the story here?

Boy, glad I know that Don. There's been a couple things I've thought about deleting and didn't think I could.
Nope, still can't get the emoticon thing going.
